As there was really too much that occurred during my weekend to possibly allow language to do the events justice, I have decided to resort to allowing the images captured with my swank new Canon PowerShot S3 IS throughout the weekend to speak for them.

Inside The Red Bull at Kapahulu and Date, on the way to Sans Souci.

Beach Bag Accoutrements: slippahs and “Gotta Be Hawaii!” beach towel. (iPod Nano, Marlboro Lights, and Coppertone Sport SPF 15 Spray not pictured.)

Me! (OMG just kidding LOL! Random Hot Guy emerging from the water.)

And these are Bartholomew’s knees.

South Shore Swell was in full force!

All right and this guy was so hot that he gave me a spontaneous erection.

Cosmopolitans with Bartholomew and mutual friends at Duke’s Canoe Club Waikiki.

Bridal party on the Sheraton Moana Surfrider veranda.

Spent way too much cash at Ruehl No. 925 at Ala Moana Center.

Another random hot guy in the booth behind us during dinner at Romano’s Macaroni Grill. (Also, my ear.)

Sunday sunrise at Kaena Point State Park.

Early morning surfer. Same location.

Quite possibly the best macro zoom image ever captured on a camera of mine. This little guy was no larger than an inch wide, and was crawling about twenty feet away from us. Fabulously captured by Bartholomew.

Back to Chez Bartelby on Sunday afternoon; one of My Fabulous Roommate’s pieces of art acquired at an amazing shop in Chinatown.

Another piece from the same shop.

Detail of the entry hallway artwork, a photographic triptych of rocks created by My Fabulous Roommate.

Bathroom shelves featuring glass vases, more rocks, black sand, and corks from particularly special wine bottles.

The Cologne Shelf (my Hanae Mori HM and Paul Smith Extreme are on the left).

An end table featuring “I Heart Hawaii” artwork.

The latest residents of 1069: fishes!

Dining room (with another piece of art created by My Fabulous Roommate).

*Sigh. I love your blog. It makes me feel like I’m on vacation.
Nice photos.
YAY! I am so happy that I can make a friend who just experienced an earthquake and tsunami feel like she is on a fabulous vacation elsewhere!
*wink*
Glad you liked the photos, my dear!
I’m telling ya, those natural disasters take a lot out of a girl. I’m thinking spa weekend …
LOVE WORSHIP AND ADORE YOU NOW THAT YOU ARE PHOTOBLOGGING AGAIN!!!!!!!! I can’t wait until you start really giving the skinny on all the places and things in Hawaii. Yours will be the most informative and simultaneously dramatic tourblog 808 has seen!
Tell me about it, Kerstin; last October when we had our 6.6 magnitude earthquake off the Big Island that left the entire state without power until well into the evening? Yeah, that took a lot of me.
And spa weekends are always in order, my dear. *wink*
AV: I know, right?! Can you believe it?! I totes heart my new camera (um even if I did spend a fortune on it but whatever the photoblogging is worth it LMFAO!).
And yes, I am also totally taking your advice about the format. *wink*
Also, re: simultaneously informative and dramatic? Yes, e.g., “OMFG HE TOTALLY PISSED ME OFF AGAIN! … So I went to this new party and totally forgot about him!”
Ha ha ha ha ha!
Glad you finally uploaded images of your place. You and the fabulous roommate have made it a very relaxing space (and that’s not just the last round of jetlag talking).
Hopefully Apartment Cleaning Sunday wasn’t the only time I’ll enjoy hanging out there…?
I’m happy that you enjoyed the photos (as well as the afternoon spent watching me be domestic; that was very obliging of you *wink*).
And of course you are always welcome again. I just promise to be a more attentive host next time. LOL!
